Frequently asked questions
I have more than 12 years of experience as a dietitian. Over this time, I have worked in various hospitals; including specialising in oncology and bariatric surgery, in rehabilitation and in private practice.
Over the past several years, much of my work has focused on supporting women through mid-life, including perimenopause and menopause, helping them manage hormonal changes, weight, metabolism, and overall wellbeing with practical, evidence-based nutrition strategies.
Dietetic Qualifications & Training:
- Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (2013), Flinders University
- Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) & Accredited Nutritionist (AN)
- Health Change ® Core Training and Motivational Interviewing (2015)
- Optifast® VLCD Accredited Healthcare Professional (2016 & 2022)
- Clinical Dietetics for Bariatric Surgery, Dietitian’s Australia (2022)
- Behaviour Change Counselling (2023)
All dietitians are nutritionists, but nutritionists without a dietetics qualification can’t call themselves a dietitian. All dietitians have graduated with an accredited dietetics degree from an Australian university or studied overseas and undergone strict examination processes. As a profession, nutritionists are not regulated in Australia. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist regardless of their qualifications.
The dietetics profession is regulated, and an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) must adhere to a strict code of conduct, as well as commit to ongoing training and education throughout their careers. Medicare, the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and many private health insurers recognise the APD credential.
- Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) referrals from your GP are welcomed. You will receive $61.80 back from Medicare if you have more than one chronic condition and qualify for an EPC.
- NDIS clients are welcome (self-managed and plan managed)
- DVA clients are able to be seen with zero gap payment
- Private Health funds provide various rebates for dietitian services. It is recommended that you check with your fund for further information.
I am committed to making my services accessible and affordable for everyone.
Please reach out to your respective insurer or support provider for more information
